Where to buy COCORO

COCORO is a paid PC visual novel, not a free-to-play client and not a Roblox title. Frontwing developed it; Frontwing USA and GOOD SMILE COMPANY published the 27 August 2026 JST release (some Steam storefronts list 26 August). You buy a linear, one-heroine story once, read it at your own pace, and you do not redeem codes. This page is the storefront map: Steam, DLsite, DMM, the free demo, Family Sharing, regional prices, the launch discount, and the optional COCORO + KANADE Steam bundle.

The official English site lists USD 24.90. Japanese coverage at launch quoted 3,800 yen tax-in. Steam often shows the US list as $24.99 at the register. Confirm the live widget before you trust a forum screenshot. Dated ship context sits on the launch recap. Direct URLs sit on the links hub. If you still need a verdict on writing and art, the spoiler-aware review is the right page after you know the UI is readable — not before.

Try the Steam demo first

The cheapest purchase is no purchase. Frontwing posted a free Steam demo (app 5069120) on 20 August 2026, one week before the Japanese street date. It is a separate application. You do not need to own the full game (app 4650950). You do need a Steam account and a Windows 11 PC or Deck that meets the Windows 11 spec sheet.

Use the demo to answer questions a store page cannot: Japanese voices with English text, font size on a 7-inch Deck, auto-play delay, and whether Asta Konno’s opening tone is for you. Cloud on the demo and Cloud on the full game are different apps. Do not assume a 5069120 save unlocks later chapters in 4650950. When the sample stops, you either buy or walk away having spent nothing but time.

How to buy on Steam

Steam is the default store for English players who want Cloud saves, 12 achievements, Family Sharing, and a Steam Deck Verified build.

1. Open the COCORO Steam page (app 4650950) in the desktop client or a browser.
2. If you have not sampled the opening, use the demo download control first.
3. Check the live price, the introductory-offer label, and whether a COCORO + KANADE bundle widget is visible.
4. Purchase with whatever Steam payment method your region supports. There is no retail key to type.
5. After the download, follow first-hour language and Cloud setup.

Steam is also where refund clocks, region locks, and VAT lines live. A visual novel around five hours can burn Valve’s typical two-hour refund playtime if you leave auto-play running. Read Steam’s current refund policy on the store, not a wiki paraphrase. Billing tickets stay with Steam. Game bugs that survive a verify-files pass go to [email protected].

DLsite and DMM

Confirmed Japanese digital shops at launch: DLsite and DMM (DMM GAMES). Gematsu, Automaton, and Frontwing’s platform line all name those catalogs alongside Steam. This wiki does not invent product IDs. Search COCORO plus Frontwing / GOOD SMILE COMPANY on the shop you already use, then match the 27 August 2026 date and the 3,800-yen tax-in list price.

Those storefronts do not give you Steam Cloud, Steam achievements, Family Sharing, or the Deck Verified badge. If you plan to read on a Steam Deck, buy the Steam SKU. If you already keep a DLsite or DMM library for Japanese PC novels and never touch Steam, those shops are valid. Their downloaders, coupons, and refund rules are their own. Support for the client is still Frontwing mail; support for a missing receipt is the shop you paid.

There is no console SKU and no worldwide physical PC box announced for the Steam audience in the materials this wiki tracks. A later Japanese package edition, if a shop lists one, is a different SKU. Do not assume a DVD-ROM equals the Steam depot.

Steam’s own store copy called the cut a 20 percent introductory offer for the first 12 days and stamped Offer ends September 7. Automaton’s launch article reported the same 20 percent off, 3,040 yen, through 8 September 2026. Those two end dates are a region and storefront difference — time zones, how a Japanese outlet counts the last day, how Steam prints the banner. This wiki will not invent a third “correct” calendar day. If your client still shows the introductory tag, you are in the window. If it does not, you are on list price unless a later seasonal sale appears.

Steam uses regional pricing. The dollar and yen figures above are the official and widely quoted anchors, not a promise that every country pays the same converted amount. VAT or GST may be included or added at checkout depending on your storefront. DLsite and DMM generally quote yen. A grey-market key site is not a regional price; it is a different risk.

After 7 September (Steam banner) / 8 September (Automaton JP) 2026, expect the 20 percent launch tag to drop. Future discounts are not scheduled here. Watch Steam and the official links list.

Family Sharing, Cloud, and handheld

Steam lists Family Sharing for COCORO. That is Valve’s household library feature, not a second copy you can gift at will, and not a DLsite license. Rules change when Steam retitles the feature; read the current Steam Families / Family Sharing help page before you promise a sibling a slot. The demo remains the clean way to let someone else sample Tsukumo without sharing a library.

Steam Cloud is why a desktop save can meet you on a Deck. Enable it on app 4650950 after you buy. Verified handheld notes, sleep, and the 5 GB install budget live on the Steam Deck Verified notes. Specs for a cheap Windows 11 laptop stay on system requirements. None of those Steam features travel with a DLsite or DMM receipt.

Optional: COCORO + KANADE on Steam

Steam sells bundle 85155, labeled COCORO + KANADE. It takes an extra 5 percent off both items on top of whatever individual discounts are live. KANADE is Frontwing and GOOD SMILE COMPANY’s previous all-ages collaboration visual novel (Steam app 3104270, 2025), not DLC and not a sequel. The stack changes if KANADE is already on sale or if you already own one of the two. Check the live widget; launch-week US math sat around $28.24 for the pair while both tags were running, and that screenshot will rot.

After you pay

Install from the store you used. Set language and volume. Turn Cloud on if you bounce between machines. Then read. COCORO is linear; there is no battle pass and no redeem code. If Steam downloads a silent depot, do not invent a version number — Frontwing has not posted a public numbered changelog.
